The Sal Verde Book is the inspiration for this experience. To raise awareness of the importance of aromatic herbs in Alentejo dishes, where they stand out on several levels. Whether it’s because of their characteristic of enhancing aromas while reducing the use of salt, or because of the particular characteris- tic that some herbs have in reducing the use of sugar, or even because of the exuberance of aroma they provide when finishing dishes. The experience begins with a farm tour during which some herbs and their applications in gastronomic terms are presented. Many of them will be part of the dishes that will be served at lunch. During the visit, participants will learn all the steps necessary to obtain a top quality dried herb without losing properties as well as herb’s uses either dried or fresh. We will visit our natural drying oven, handling methods and packaging area. At the end of the visit, participants will have a table prepared under one of our most beautiful ash trees or in our cozy plant nursery/greenhouse, where there will be several dishes made with aromatic herbs: starters, light dishes and desserts. The meal is accompanied by an infusion and lemonade. Be Aromatic also offers rosé and white wine* from a local producer, should participants wish to have wine with their meal. Enjoy an unique meal in quiet countryside, relaxed and completely private. You will occasionally have the company of our dog Zulu or our peacock Lino.
