HERBARIUM – ILUSTRATION WORKSHOP

A very different and very enriching activity. This is what we provide in this visit and workshop on how to create your herbarium using an illustration technique of your choice.
In the company of Rute Porto, owner of Be Aromatic, you will visit and learn about the plants produced on the farm, identify them and learn how to harvest them. Based on this collection, you will gain knowledge to start a herbarium. Afterwards, with the experienced Margarida Carreira* you will have the opportunity to make a graphic record of the plants you collected, using a technique of your choice. The participant will take with him/her a started herbarium and the knowledge to develop it and add to it in the future.

Cyanotype
Watercolor
Stamping

Basic necessary materials will be provided, such as paper, paints, pencils and brushes, however participants may bring their own materials if they feel more comfortable.

*Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon, Margarida is a painter and illustrator and winner of the 1st João Barata Painting Prize. For 20 years, he developed the National Brand “Bonito Serviço!” project dedicated to porcelain painting and at the same time dedicated himself to artistic education, having carried out workshops and artistic activities in the areas of ceramics, drawing and painting, on a regular or occasional basis.
Currently she is part of the Be Aromatic team, enhancing many of the products with her illustrative art.

Intended for anyone interested in exploring the world of botanic and illustration. Recommended for ages 14 and up.
