“Thymus Mastichina” is a very special thym with an unique aroma, and endemic of the Iberian Peninsula.
This amazing thyme is named by us GREEN SALT (SAL VERDE) since it is dried and crushed to be used in the same way as salt.
It’s one of our favorite herbs has it has an amazing culinary potencial and plays an important role by helping reduce the salt in cooking, as it has the property of intensifying aromas.
Its strong camphor aroma ends up disappearing during cooking, with the aroma of the surrounding ingredients prevailing. However, it can be overpowering if used excessively.
It can be used in everything from meat and fish, vegetables and soups, sauces and drinks. Some top-quality olive oil sprinkled with it, is an experience that leaves no one indifferent. Ideal to keep next to our stove and use daily in all dishes as a substitute for salt.
