In the Middle Ages it was known as holy herb, as it was considered extremely medicinal and capable of curing all ills. Since ancient times, it has been known for its exceptional anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.
The infusion of dry or fresh leaves acts on the digestive system and improves circulation. It has antiseptic properties for inflammation of the mouth and pharynx. The plant is also used in treatments related to excessive sweating, anxiety, depression, menstruation and lactation.
