Guided Farm Tour + Tile Painting Workshop + Herbal tea *PRIVATE*

The tile – this ceramic square, painted and glazed, is much more than an durable wall covering. Over the centuries, it has adapted to new fashions and tastes, and manages to contain nothing less than our history, our culture and our art.
What we propose in this workshop is to paint tiles with motifs inspired by our plants. We chose the traditional single-figure tile, that emerged in Portugal in the 17th and 18th centuries. One simple ornamental pattern in the center, in a single color – the traditional cobalt blue.
You will visit the farm, learn about the plants produced here and taste an infusion, with Rute. With Margarida, you will then try out the basic tile painting techniques, taking the pieces you paint with you.
The necessary material will be available to paint a tile, with pre-prepared drawings.
The tiles will then be fired in a ceramic oven and delivered by hand or sent by post, on a scheduled date (shipping costs paid separately)

*Graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Lisbon, Margarida is a painter and illustrator and winner of the 1st João Barata Painting Prize. For 20 years, he developed the national brand “Bonito Serviço!” project dedicated to porcelain tableware painting and at the same time dedicated himself to artistic education, having carried out workshops and artistic activities in the areas of ceramics, drawing and painting, on a regular or occasional basis.
Currently she is part of the Be Aromatic team, enhancing many of the products with her illustrative art.
